Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Evan Hughes left for New York in 2007 to begin the jazz studies program at New York University. While at NYU, he worked closely with jazz icons such as Joe Lovano, John Scofield, George Garzone, and Brian Lynch, touring Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
After graduating NYU, Evan worked for three years with multi-grammy winning producer and composer Don Sickler, developing the "Jazz Drum Corner" as a valuable asset and educational tool to Mr. Sickler's already extensive music publications. Evan also taught high school music ensembles at the Calhoun School in New York City, and participated in Jazz at Lincoln Center's "Jazz for Young People" program. Evan has continued to tour with longtime musical partners Julian Waterfall Pollack & Ben Flocks, as well as Juno award winning singer Sophie Milman.
Evan moved back to the Bay Area in 2014 to pursue a career in software engineering. In November 2014, he started at Dev Bootcamp, an 18-week, 1000+ hour intensive course on web-development. At Dev Bootcamp, he focused on Ruby and Javascript, constantly applying his new tools by building real world applications. He learned not only frameworks such as Rails and Sinatra, but practiced standard development strategies such as pair-programming, Test-Driven Development, Git workflow, and Agile development.

Everyone loves finding new online recipes, but every time they decide to cook something, there's usually a bunch of ingredients they don't have, and they often don't have time to go to the store every time they want to cook something new. That way, when you finally have to time to make it to the store, your shopping list is right there for you to pull up!
